Who am I describing?

I have to write this blog about a hitter and not a pitcher. We will play name this player and I will give you a few clues to see if you know who I am talking about.
Here are your clues:
  1. He won gold gloves in 2008 and 2009
  2. Any team would love to have his combination of bat and glove
  3. His first two years in the bigs were in Texas
  4. He had 99 RBI last year falling one short of having three consecutive years of 100 RBI
  5. The last four years his HR total has gone up from 24-30-36-40
  6. He is the best player on what has been a bad club for years
  7. He is now the best player on the best team in the NL West
  8. He has hit Hr's in four consecutive games.
Adrien Gonzalez is one of the best kept secrets in baseball. This year is no different as he is putting up great numbers. He will be right there for a 40+ HR season for the Padres this season as they try to get out of the basement in their division.

Albert Pujols went deep last night for #7 on the season and 373 of his career. I am loving to see the big first baseman adding to his numbers.
