Andruw Jones close to 400

One of the best outfielders in all of baseball from the mid 90's to the 2007 season was Andruw Jones. He is a 10 time, thats right 10 time gold glove winner as he patrolled the outfield for the Braves. He also carried a big stick at the plate hitting close to 300 HR's during that time.

A couple of years ago he signed a big contract with the Dodgers and things went downhill fast. He struggled to bat .150 and suddenly had a loss in power. The final year with the Braves he only hit .222 though he did hit 26 HR then last year he signed on with the Texas Rangers and seemed to get a bit of the Jones magic back. He still struggled with the average hitting just .214 but he chipped in 17 HR.

Last night he delivered the old form that made him so valuable to the Braves. Think of the numbers that Smoltz and Glavine put up as the result of Jones' offense and defence. He certainly helped the White Sox pull out the win against the Jays last night with homeruns #389 and 390 of his career. He even showed some of the leather from the past.

Cole Hamels picked up his second win of the season to pick up career victory #50. It has happened very quickly for him and he looks to be the dominant pitcher again. Barry Zito pitched well for the Giants for his second win as well, for him it was #135. I hope this is the season Barry gets things back together.

Albert Pujols continued his hot streak and launched #5 on the season and now sits at 371 career homeruns. You know the math just 29 for 400 and 329 for 700. I am getting excited about his run at these significant milestones. Wow!
