Jonathan Sanchez impressive again

Last year Sanchez was one of the guys that hurled a no hitter as he pitched against the Padres. He must have been excited to get the start against the Padres again this series and he did not disappoint. This time out he allowed just one hit, unfortunately for him that one hit ended up scoring and he was tagged with the loss. On top of all that he struck out 10 Padres batters, talk about your hard luck loss.

His opponent on the night was one of my favorite young pitchers in Mat Latos. Latos picked up his first win of the season as he threw 7 innings of shutout ball allowing just 4 hits against a very productive Giants squad. He can be very thankful to the bullpen who somehow managed to keep the Giants at bay. Win #5 of his career will be one he remembers for some time.

Albert Pujols got back on the homerun track again with his sixth of the season and #372 of his career. That means just 328 more to 700. Andruw Jones continued his hot play with HR #392, glad I picked him up in my fantasy league. Finally Jason Heyward picked up his 4th dinger of the young season. Overall it was another great night of ball.
