Lewis through nine shutout innings and allowed just three hits while striking out 10 batters. In Lewis' last four starts he has struck out 10 3 of those times. He is quickly becoming one of the leagues top power pitchers. You gotta believe that the Rangers are pleased to have this surprise in their starting staff.
One of my potential 300 game winners came up with another "W" as he defeated the always underwhelming Pirates. Chad Billingsley pitched six innings giving up 2 ER for his second win of the season to move him to 49 in his brief career. He is a long shot as he seems to have settled into being an average hurler.
I have to mention Barry Zito. The man with the great curveball moved to 4-0 on the season with another stellar pitching performance. Zito pitched eight solid innings giving up only 2 ER, and Zito is now up to 137 wins and in just 31 years old. Could he get back on track to make a run at even 200 wins, I think he could.
Last night there were many more multiple homerun games, not sure what is going on with that but here is the list: Rod Barajas, JD Drew, Ryan Zimmerman and Alex Gonzalez.
Jason Heyward continued with his amazing hitting as he drilled his sixth career HR and Paul Konerko went deep for #11 on the year and 337 for the career.
