Cain tosses a one hitter

Well it took him five starts before he finally got into the win column, but now Matt Cain has a "W" beside his name for the 2010 season. In his previous 4 starts he had one loss and three no decisions. In his 8 inning performance he gave up just one hit and struck out 8 before letting the bullpen pitch the ninth. He was the Matt Cain of old, well he seems older than his 25 as he has been in the league for six years now. Cain now has 45 wins against his 52 losses. He will get back to .500 before the season is over.

Roy Halladay got back on track as he beat Mike Pelfrey and the Mets. He won the game 10-0 and pitched another complete game shutout. His complete was his 3rd in 6 starts this year. His record is now 5-1 and he has 153 "W"'s to his credit. I would guess there will not be too many more speed bumps for Doc in 2010.

Jason Heyward continues to swing a powerful young bat as he hit #7 for the year in just four weeks of baseball. He is an impressive young hitter and if he stays healthy he will win the R.O.Y. by a long shot.

Andruw Jones is swinging a hot bat too. He drilled two more HR's 7 & 8 on the year and he now has 396 in his career. He seems to be quite a bargain at $500.000/year. He is the multiple HR hitting machine this year.

Mark Reynolds of the D'backs has stepped up his HR production again this season with his 8th and ninth of 2010. Last year he hit 44 and he looks like he will get to those numbers again. He now has 98 career HR's and is a 26 year old slugger.
