Ubaldo dominates again

Ubaldo Jimenez continue to show why he is the front runner for the Cy Young after the first six weeks of the season. He moved his record to a superb 8-1, with a seven inning shutout allowing just one hit during that time. In four of his last seven starts he has allowed less than 2 hits which is incredible in itself. What is the most impressive stat for me is that after nine starts his ERA is less than 1.00, as he comes in it 0.99. That is special!!!

Jon Lester picked up another win last night as the Red Sox defeated the Twins and Francisco Liriano. Lester hurled a complete game allowing no walks and striking out nine batters from the normally strong hitting Twins. Jon continues to drop his ERA, he is now in mid 3's after a pretty tough start to the campaign. The win was #4 on the season and he needs just four more to reach 50 in his career.

Vlad Guerrero continued to show the Rangers that he still has lots of skill left in his body. He picked up 2 more hits on the night to move to 2303, including a HR. His ninth HR of the year represents longball #416.

I have to mention Ken Griffey Jr, as there has been not much to get excited about lately for him. He drove in the game winning run in the ninth to give the Mariners a win. He now has 2781 hits in his amazing career. Too bad it was cut short by injuries as he would have easily been a 3000 hit 700 HR guy. I am glad that this positive moment happened for him as they have been few and far between.
