Latos continues to impress and with his 4th win of the season he continues to gain confidence. Latos has leveled his win loss total to 8-8 for his career .I think it is so valuable to have a Jon Garland around to show him what it takes to be a top knotch MLB pitcher. Big props need to be given to Padres pitching coach Darren Balsley who has turned that pitching staff around.
I made a trade in my fantasy league giving up Zach Greinke in order to get Latos. I also picked up Billy Wagner in a two for one deal. I am not sure what is going on with Greinke as he moved to 1-5 on the season. Greinke only pitched 3 1/3 innings allowing nine hits, not too impressive at all.
In the battle of NY, Johan Santana outdueled CC Sabathia to pick up the win. It was a very smooth performance for Santana who was in control for most of the game. He got great support off the bat of Jason Bay for his 4th win of the year and 126th of his career. It was pointed out on the Sunday night game that he has the 4th highest winning % of all pitchers who have more than 200 starts.
